World-famous painter, Wayne Thiebaud, was born in Mesa, Arizona in 1920. In the year 1936, Thiebaud worked briefly in the Walt Disney Studios animation department and then attended Frank Wiggins Trade School to study commercial art. His most famous works are of pastries, cakes, toilets, lipstick, and other commercial products. Assosiated with the Pop Art movement, Thiebaud liked to depict objects of mass culture by applying thick amounts of pigment with exaggerated colors.
