Suzanne Caporael

As Ken Johnson wrote in the New York Times, “Caporael’s paintings are a curious mix of the aesthetic and the conceptual…the paintings are sensuous and lyrical as well as rigorously formal.” Born and raised in New York in 1946, Suzanne Caporael creates elusive works that explore color-field abstraction. At an early age, Caporael began making collage paintings with unique color pallets, making her stand out as an exceptional talent. She attended the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and has been printing at Tandem Press since 1996.
