Kay Jackson
Washington DC, artist Kay Jackson works in several different styles. While her oil and watercolor paintings are beautiful, Jackson is also well known for the gilding that she applies to her work. Using medieval techniques Jackson uses gold to accent nocturnal paintings or to create a decorative border; she also has created a series of gilded icons featuring endangered species. In 1997, Jackson was commissioned to paint the official holiday card, a nocturne of the White House, for President and Mrs. Clinton. Jackson exhibits in The District of Columbia, New York, Florida, and Washington.
