Susan Davis
Susan Davis was a self-taught artist whose skills included magazine and book illustration, formal oils, murals, and detailed watercolors. Some of her most recognized work was done for the New Yorker, including numerous covers and for a Washington Post gardening column. In addition Ms. Davis illustrated several children’s books including Birthday Moon and The Dinosaur Who Lived in My Back Yard. A mural by Ms. Davis was commissioned for Porto Bello, a historic home in St. Mary’s Maryland, and in 1993, the artist was honored by a commission to execute the official Presidential Inauguration image given to officials throughout the world.
