Ana Mercedes Hoyos is one of the most significant and distinguished figures in Colombian art today. Her work has been seen internationally since 1968 with solo exhibitions in Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and the United States. Her contributions over the last four decades have been recognized through decorations awarded to her by Colombia, the United States and Japan. Four books, with commentaries by well known critics including Eduardo Serrano and Angel Kalenberg, have featured her work.
